

To open the Properties tab for a redaction, right-click it and select Properties. This must be done before the Apply Redactions process is run.

You can control how a redacted area will appear in the PDF after the redaction takes place on the Properties tab for the redaction annotation. To complete the redaction, save the PDF.Click OK when you have set the desired filters. These filters are always applied by default to ensure that data is not unintentionally left in the document. Use caution with filters because what appears as text in the PDF file may actually be vector data. Conversely, unchecking Text and leaving Image checked would remove the background image and leave the text. For example: To redact text, but not the background image behind the text, leave Text checked and uncheck Image.
